VFW requests public's help to clean up around Haleyville Sports Complex on May 16

HALEYVILLE - A section of 9th Avenue in Haleyville leading to the city’s sports complex has become such an eyesore due to littering that a major clean-up effort is being planned.

BANKHEAD NATIONAL FOREST - Wild Alabama's Cranal Road Trash Dash will be on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join, but children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers should meet at the Sipsey River Trailhead in the upper parking lot at Sipsey Fork, wear close-toed shoes, long pants and bug spray and bring their own water and snacks.
