MONTGOMERY - The author of the new book "The Byler Road and Its People", Haleyville native Joel Mize, was in Montgomery Tuesday along with his collaborator on the book, Theresa Snoddy, of Double Springs, and Theresa's husband, Winston County Circuit Clerk, J.D. Snoddy.  While in the state capital, the three visited with Governor Kay Ivey, presenting her a copy of the book, which details the history of the Byler Road and the counties through which it travels.

WINSTON COUNTY - Governor Kay Ivey on Thursday signed Senate Bill 76, sponsored by Senator Del March, which provides the largest tax break in more than a decade to middle-class Alabamians.
