ARLEY - There are more reasons to celebrate at the annual Arley Day festival than ever before.
This year, the festival, planned in its annual time slot of the third Saturday in May, or May 21, marks several changes. The biggest change is a major expansion of the festival itself, resulting in parking moved off site and visitors being shuttled back and forth to the festival located Hamner Park off County Road 77, organizers said.
The Arley Day Parade will start at 8 a.m. on May 21. Those who wish to be in the parade should line up in the Arley Dollar General parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to take part in the parade; there is no fee to participate. Participants may want to ride bicycles, which some are planning to decorate, walk with their dogs, ride horses or drive ATVs. ATV riders must wear helmets, and anyone driving an ATV or any vehicle in the parade must have a driver’s license.
ARLEY - Arley’s Free Lil’ Pantry will have a table set up at Arley Day Saturday, May 15, for those who want to donate non-perishable food items, toiletries, etc.
The pantry is located at 98 County Road 3926 just off County Road 12 in the Wilson Bend area.
ARLEY - If you are interested in the participating in the Arley Day 5K and or fun walk, you may pickup entry forms at the Meek High School or elementary school office, as well as Traders and Farmers Bank and Traditions Bank in Arley.
