All Haleyville City Schools homecoming festivities moved to Thursday

HALEYVILLE - All homecoming activities for Haleyville  city schools have been moved to this Thursday September 26th due to the threat of severe weather ; announced superintendent Dr Holly Sutherland. 

The following is the homecoming schedule:

HES pep rally at 8:30 am Haleyville High School gym

HMS pep rally 9:30 am at HHS gym

Parade line up. 12:45-1:00 at Haleyville Center of Technology/ Science parking lot

WCHS homecoming moves to Oct. 16

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The annual homecoming event at Winston County High School is anticipated by many throughout the fall. Unfortunately, this year is also the year of the pandemic and changes have been underway. The homecoming parade has been canceled this year, and plans are still not concrete on Spirit Night. However, events on homecoming night are still scheduled, albeit on a different day than originally planned.

HALEYVILLE - It will be difficult to keep Lions caged this week, as excitement and anticipation are building each day along with activities, as homecoming festivities for Haleyville High School draw closer on Friday, Sept. 25, and school officials assure all events will be done according to safety regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

BEAR CREEK - Julie Dodd was crowned the Phillips High School Homecoming Queen for 2020 during a halftime ceremony Friday, Sept. 11.

PHS loses to Hackleburg in homecoming

BEAR CREEK - Phillips High School's homecoming was not only dampened by the light rain in the area, but also the Hackleburg Panthers, who pulled away in the second half to beat the Bears 38-22.
The mood between the two teams was friendlier and emotional prior to the start of the game when Hackleburg offensive lineman Kade Holcomb and wide receivers Gavin Pyburn and Ethan Heggy presented flowers to homecoming court contestant Emma Taylor in memory of her brother, Kiah, who lost his life in a two-vehicle accident in July.
