Long-time faculty from Winston County Schools retiring

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Long-time teachers with a combined experience between 150-200 years have announced their retirement from Winston County Schools, creating adjustments for the board of education as it prepares for a new school year in August.

Nuisance ordinance now in effect

DOUBLE SPRINGS - oncerned residents have brought the issue of a nuisance property to the attention of the Double Springs Town Council the past few months, prompting the council to approve a public nuisance ordinance at its regular meeting Monday, March 9, after a public hearing filled with concerns, questions and discussion on the issue.

Double Springs’ American Legion seeking help

DOUBLE SPRINGS - American Legion Post 184 in Double Springs is undergoing major changes, not only in leadership but in ways to rebuild the legion through various programs and fundraisers to help meet current needs such as a lack of heating at the post building.
