PHS wins in northwest regional semifinals

HANCEVILLE - The returning state 1A girls champions had to make a comeback Thursday, Feb. 13, over Decatur Heritage Christian Academy in the northwest region semifinals held at Wallace State Community College, in Hanceville. The Phillips She Bears won 50-46.
The She Bears trailed until the third quarter, where they took a 10-point lead at one point. The DHCA Lady Eagles made their own comeback in the fourth quarter, falling short by four points.
The win put PHS in the finals Monday, Feb. 17, where they will play Mars Hill.

HANCEVILLE - The 1A Phillips She Bears are a run-and-gun style of team, scoring more than 160 points in the two area games recently. The She Bears brought a much slower pace to the court at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville Thursday, Feb. 14. for the semi-finals of northwest regional action. The She Bears (23-10) defeated  Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (20-9)  54-36. They played Falkville Monday, Feb. 18, in the regional finals, winning 81-41. The She Bears will play Westminster at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center at 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25.
