BEAR CREEK  - Tom Misner, a local farmer, plans to bring his professional work ethic into his new position as a Bear Creek Town Council member.
Misner was sworn in to the Place 1  seat at the Monday, Nov. 1, meeting of the Bear Creek Town Council, replacing James Weeks, who had to resign due to health issues.  Administering Misner the oath of office was Marion County District Judge Mark Hammitte.
After the swearing-in ceremony, the council took action to officially appoint Misner as town council member for Place 1, with Alex Price making the motion, Eric Mills seconding and all voting in favor.
“We’re glad to have Tom on board,” stated Mayor Rob Taylor, describing Misner as a, “community minded, outstanding gentleman.”
The town considered numerous people to fill the slot left by Weeks’ resignation, Taylor said.
“Everybody came to the conclusion that Tom would be the best fit,” Taylor added, “so we contacted Tom and asked him, and he graciously accepted.”
