DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Sheriff's Office has released the full list of charges against the parents of a 2-month-old infant who was killed December 30.
Shannon Lee Stewart, 33, of Haleyville, was arrested the night of the baby's death and charged with capital murder. Along with that charge, Shannon is now also facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, three counts of chemical endangerment, two counts of willful abuse of a child and one count of sexual assault of a child less than 12.
Brittany Cheyenne Scoggins, 24, of Haleyville, was arrested on Wednesday, January 3, according to the inmate register released by the Winston County Sheriff's Office. Scoggins is charged with three counts of chemical endangerment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and for failing to appear on a traffic charge.
According to the sheriff's office, Shannon is being held without bail. As of Friday, January 5, Scoggins was still in the Winston County Jail being held on a $57,000 cash bond.
