Craft Community Day Saturday

HALEYVILLE - The annual Craft Community Day will take place Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Craft Fire Station, located at 7109 County Highway 19 (Thornhill Road) off of Highway 129 in Haleyville.
The community day will feature a host of fun events for the family, including an opportunity to meet the volunteers who comprise the Craft Volunteer Fire Department, as well as see the department’s trucks and equipment up close.  
Attendees will also get a chance to dunk a firefighter in the firefighter dunking booth.  Donations from this event will support the fire department.
There will be water slides for the kids, as well as games, food, prizes and more.
In addition, there will be a car show at the Thorn Hill Community Center.  Registration will begin at 9 a.m. , with e awards for the Top 10 and Best in Show announced at 2 p.m.  The entry fee for the car show will be $20.  For more information on the car show, contact Kevin Lauderdale at (205) 486-4640.
Old Trinity Missionary Baptist Church will  be on-hand during the community day selling tickets for a 12-piece Milwaukee power tool set valued at over $1,000.  Tickets are $5 each or $20 for a book of 5.  The drawing will take place during Craft Community Day.  To purchase tickets in advance go to Venmo:  @TLGarrison 21; Cashapp:  $TLGarrison25 or PayPal:  tiffany_student11@yahoo.com.  You do not have to be present to win.  Proceeds from this fundraiser will help the church pay for a trip to visit the Ark Encounter in Kentucky.
