HALEYVILLE - Anna Lacy Sartin will be joining the Bevill State Community College’s softball team next fall.
The Haleyville High School senior will be on the pitching staff at the Sumiton campus.
Her high school head coach Whitney Webb said about Anna Lacy, “I first met Anna Lacy at a Mississippi State softball game, where anyone could see the love she had for the sport at an early age. Anna Lacy has been a part of the Haleyville softball program since she was in the seventh grade.
“She is the type of player who fulfills her role, whatever that may be. She never complains and asks for more work. Anna Lacy strives for excellence and has a competitive spirit that is fun to coach. She is also dependable and leads by example. I have had the privilege to watch her grow into the young lady and athlete she is today. I know she will be an asset to Bevill State’s program.”
Anna Lacy started T-ball when she was three years old, but she has focused her high school career on softball.
“I have so many people who have had such an important influence on my life,” she smiled. “My parents first and foremost. I would not be here without them. My coaches have driven me to be the best I can be. I will always owe them so much. I can’t forget to thank Holly Ward. She has trained and developed my pitching skills throughout the years.
“I am looking forward to going to Bevill for the next chapter of my life. Thank you to everyone who has had a part.”
