All area public libraries closed until further notice

WINSTON COUNTY - The Carl Elliott Regional Library has closed all the libraries within its system - including the Double Springs and Arley public libraries - until further notice.  The Haleyville Public Library, which is also within the Carl Elliott system, was closed earlier this week by Mayor Ken Sunseri.

"If you currently have library materials checked out, please retain them until we reopen. ALL OVERDUE FEES will be waived during this time so that our patrons may still have access to all of our online resources,"  Haleyville Librarian Carla Waldrep posted on social media. "We hope that during these very trying and unusual times you will utilize some of our great online resources."

All activities and library programs are canceled until the foreseeable future at all three locations.

"If you use our WiFi, you may still access if outside the building. In your vehicle or on the benches surrounding the library,"  Waldrep stated about the Haleyille Public Library. "We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused but please know we are all in this together.
