DOUBLE SPRINGS - State Senator Garlan Gudger - who is recovering from major injuries suffered in a jet ski accident this summer - made his first speaking appearance since the accident Monday, Sept. 30, to celebrate over $119,000 in funding for projects across Winston County.

Looney’s receives $850,000 grant

LAKESHORE - The mission of getting state funds into rural Alabama is literally paying off a big way, with state legislators going to bat for Winston County, securing nearly $2 million from the Education Trust Fund for two major projects related to education and tourism.

CULLMAN - In an effort to connect all Alabamians to high-speed internet, Governor Kay Ivey joined forces with Cullman Electric Co-op and state legislators to announce a $7 million project for parts of Winston, Cullman, Lawrence and Morgan counties on Monday, Dec. 2.

HALEYVILLE - Issues ranging from education, healthcare, infrastructure and broadband that will come up during this year’s Alabama legislative session will be addressed locally next week during a public meeting hosted by Winston County’s team of state legislators.

GRAYSON - State legislators met with Winston County officials at Grayson Lumber Corporation Monday, March 7, to see first-hand a company access road that has become deteriorated due to heavy truck traffic and erosion, pledging financial assistance to remedy the problem.
