WCSHoF banquet honors inductees

HALEYVILLE - The Winston County Sports Hall of Fame banquet recognized deserving honorees Saturday, May 20, at the Haleyville Elementary School cafetorium.
Bob Masdon, executive director of the WCSHoF, welcome everyone and introduced Tony Giles.
Giles, University of Alabama sports announcer, was master of ceremonies for the event. He has served in this capacity for 19 of the 22 years the banquet has been held. He then introduced the keynote speaker.

HALEYVILLE - The annual Winston County Sports Hall of Fame will be held Saturday, July 20, at the Haleyville Elementary School cafetorium. Tickets are $20 for the steak dinner and may be purchased at the branches of Traders and Farmers Bank or at the door.
Tony Giles, the “Voice of the Crimson Tide” at Bryant-Denny Stadium and Coleman Coliseum, will be the master of ceremonies. The keynote speaker will be Tyler Watts, former Alabama quarterback.

A banquet was held Sunday, March 31, in the Ninth Avenue Church of Christ fellowship hall to honor the Haleyville High School varsity and junior varsity basketball teams. HHS football banquet honors athletes

HALEYVILLE - Mitch Nethery, senior pastor of the Haleyville First United Methodist Church, gave an inspiring keynote speech to those in attendance of the Haleyville High School football banquet Thursday, Jan. 10, at the FUMC Slaughter Fellowship Hall. Nethery has also served in the military 29 years. He is currently a lieutenant colonel and chaplain.
