Addison man sentenced to 45 years in prison

DOUBLE SPRINGS - An Addison man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Timothy Paul Tidwell, 55, was sentenced by Circuit Judge Lee Carter Dec. 17, after being convicted in October by a Winston County jury on three counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12.  Tidwell was sentenced to 15 years in prison for each count, with the sentences to run consecutively, or back-to-back.

Under current Alabama law, Tidwell will not be eligible for parole or "good time" credit on his sentences.  He has 42 days to file a notice of appeal.

Deputy District Attorney Neal Cook was the lead prosecutor for the case. Deputy District Attorney CeJe Hearn assisted during the trial. Investigator Celia Glaze was the lead investigator and CVSO Leslie Smith provided assistance to the victim and trial coordination.
