LYNN - The Lynn Town Council met on April 16, at 6 p.m. at the old town hall.
In old business, a 1998 Jeep Wrangler the town received sealed bids on was sold to the highest bidder, Gloria Cooper, for the amount of $1,800. The title has been transferred.
The first topic on the agenda Mayor Jeff Stokes brought to the table was new tires Street Supervisor Jim Robins’ 2011 F-250. A quote from Hick’s Tire in the amount of $633.80 for two Iron Man front tires and two Iron Man Mud Grip tires, mounted and balanced, had been given. Tommy Chambless made a motion to purchase tires, Bruce Odom seconded, all were in favor and the motion carried.
The other topic was repairs to a fire department vehicle. An annual test on the 2007 Kenworth fire truck showed it needed a new waterous valve repair kit discharge and a class 1 gauge. NAFECO quoted a price of $1,053.60. Alan Barnett made a motion to have the repairs paid out of the fire department savings account. Odom seconded, all were in favor and the motion carried.
With no other business to conduct, Barnett made the motion for adjournment.
The next Lynn Town Council meeting will be Monday, May 21, at 6 p.m. at the old town hall.
