Orville Lee Pickens, 83, of Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was the retired owner of Pinecrafters.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 2-3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. His funeral will begin at 3 p.m., with Gary Wakefield officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Jean Fell Pickens; children, Doris Ann (Steve) Robinson, Dorothy Lee (Jackie) Roberts, Ronald (Jenneth) Pickens and Bobby (Stephanie) Spain; grandchildren, Johnathan (Miranda) Robinson, Lisa Walton (Sam Baker), Branden (Sabrina) Roberts, Matt (Lauren) Roberts, Heather (Myles) Frederick, Shay Pickens (Dakota McKee), Jason Pickens (Caroline "Chuck" Grant), Danielle (Chad) Dilworth, Summer (Drew) Whiteside, Jasmine Lamiao, Trent (Kamrin) Spain and Courtney Spain; great-grandchildren, Lyla Robinson, John Luke Robinson, Maddy Walton, Hunter Walton, Zoe Roberts, Mia Roberts, Micaela Miller, Jett Roberts, Sadie Frederick, Hallie Frederick, Phoenix Lee Grant, Maddox Hall, Vera Whiteside and Kyle Whiteside and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Doc Pickens; mom, Eva (Jim) Holt; sister, Sara Borden; brother, Bobby (Alethia) Pickens; sister, Jeanette Powell and brother, Roger Pickens.
