Beatrice Joy Everett

Beatrice Joy Everett, 88, of Cullman, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. 

Joy was born March 10, 1937 to Jacy and Bulah Marler. Joy enjoyed sewing, bird watching and helping others. She was a member of Addison Church of God and enjoyed spending time visiting the nursing home and traveling to Tennessee with her church senior group "Young at Heart."  Joy loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where her funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Janelle Merrell and Brother Sam Parker will officiate. A committal service will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Joy is survived by her daughter, Debbie Phifer (Joe Phifer); son, Michael McCurley (Tammy McCurley); grandchildren, Andrea Day (Josh Day), Daniel Thompson (Courtney Thompson) and Laramie Burnett (Lance Burnett); great-grandchildren, Karter Jarrett, Kimber Jarrett, Hayden Thompson, Barrett Thompson, Brinkley Burnett and Sawyer Burnett; brothers and sisters, Edith James, Jerry Wood (Pam Wood) and Alan Wood and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jacy Marler; mother, Bulah Wood; stepfather, Andrew J. Wood; sister, Judy Martens and deceased husbands, Willie "Dawl" McCurley, Charles L. Light and James (Jp) Everett.
