ADDISON - After a successful pre-kindergarten program the past two years at Addison Elementary, the school will proudly kick off their second pre-K program when school starts Wednesday, Aug. 8, thanks to a second $120,000 grant.
The Pre-Kindergarten program started at AES two years ago with a $120,000 state Education Trust Fund grant spanning three years. The third and final year of that first grant will be the 2018-2019 school year.
When school officials learned that additional pre-kindergarten programs would open up in the state for this school year, they began pursuing additional funding, noted AES Principal Jeff Scott.
