In the article regarding the Bear Creek Council that appeared in the Wednesday, September 5, 2018 edition of the Northwest Alabamian, the opening paragraph stated that there is an ongoing investigation of the Town of Bear Creek by the State Bureau of Investigation regarding possible mishandling or misspent funds. Bear Creek Mayor Connie Morrison reached out to the Alabamian Wednesday, Sept. 5, and clarified that the Town of Bear Creek is not under investigation for mishandling or misappropriation of funds. The campground is under investigation to make sure there has been no mishandling of funds. The Alabamian is happy to make this clarification.
