HALEYVILLE - High speed internet service is knocking on the door of Haleyville, but funding must first be secured before the project can proceed, noted Steve Foshee, who was keynote speaker along with U.S. Congressman Robert Aderholt at the Tuesday, Sept. 18 meeting of the Haleyville Civitan Club.
The scope of laying fiber optic lines in Haleyville is part of a multi-faceted project, where high speed internet connections from freedomFIBER have already been established throughout areas of Marion County as part of Phase 1.
Haleyville and Bear Creek have been listed in Phase 2, and the hurdles of receiving the right amount of needed funding have kept this portion of the project near a standstill.
