HALEYVILLE - Mayor Ken Sunseri had good financial news to report to the Haleyville City Council during the Oct. 1, meeting.
With fiscal year 2018 ending Sept. 30, the city has been able to take a look at year-end key tax figures, and all of them were up from FY 2017.
Sales tax collected for FY 2018 was up, with the year end figure standing at $2,727,254.66. This was an increase of $31,736.82 from last year.
The occupational tax figure also rose for FY 2018. The fiscal year ending balance for the tax was $944,955.78. This was an increase of $51,035.66 over last year’s ending amount.
The amount of alcohol tax collected in FY 2018 also increased. The fiscal year-end total was $119,124.37. That was an increase of $10,856.31.
