BEAR CREEK - The Phillips High School Robotics Team has been working very hard, and that work is paying off.
The team recently placed second overall at the BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science & Technology) Robotics Competition at Northwest-Shoals Community College. With their second place finish, they team advanced to the south’s BEST Regional Championship, which was held at Auburn University. Competing against 64 teams from five states in front of 8,000 people, the team came in seventh place overall. This is the highest any team from Northwest Alabama has ever placed in the competition.
The PHS Robotics Team would like to thank retired state representative Mike Millican, Traders & Farmers Bank, Mark Sampson, Wood Cutz, CP4E, People’s Trust Bank and the parents of all the team members for all of their support.
“Without you, this would not have been possible,” Copeland said.
