F.M. "Doc" Carter

F.M. "Doc" Carter, 85 of Bessemer, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at UAB Medical West in Bessemer.

Mr. Carter was born on August 24, 1933 in Winston County. F.M. loved singing and playing music and appeared on the Country Boy Eddie Show. He also enjoyed watching college football, especially Alabama.   

Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Addison, with his funeral following at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at Meek Cemetery in Arley.

F.M. is survived by his daughter, Donna Key and her husband Rex; brother, O.D. Carter and his wife Christine; sisters, Inez Waid and her husband Orlen, Gladys Stewart and her husband J.C. and JoAnn Buckelew. He was known as "Paw Paw" to 2 grandchildren, Chasidy and Courtney; 8 great-grandchildren, Erica, Brittney, Rylen, Briana, Ian, Brandon, Michael and Carter; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Brycen, Kinley, Camden, Mariella and Elias; as well as his beloved dog Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Pass and granddaughter, Brandy Vance.
