The Haleyville Lady Lions softball team had trouble keeping up with Russellville in a 10-2 loss on Tuesday, April 22.
Russellville got things started in the first inning. Makala O'Neal grounded out, scoring one run. The Lady Tigers pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third O'Neal singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run and Katie Skidmore grounded out, scoring one run.
Megan Warhurst toed the rubber for Russellville. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out nine.
Ana Aaron was in the circle for Lady Lions. She surrendered seven runs on four hits over three and a third innings, striking out three. Molly Gilbert threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.
Alivia Clemmons went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Russellville in hits.
