Tidwell drives in four to Winston County victory over Meek

Abby Tidwell drove in four on two hits to lead the Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets softball team  past Meek 8-3 on Tuesday. Tidwell drove in runs on a grand slam in the third.

Winston County started up the offense in the first inning. Madison Comeens grounded out, scoring a run.

Meek knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning, when Abby Phillips drew a walk, scoring a run.WCHS pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Olivia Wright singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Katelyn Bullock doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

The Lady Jackets tallied four runs in the third inning on the grand slam by Tidwell. Ally Blackston was in the pitcher's circle for Winston County, going three innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out two.

Tidwell led the Yellow Jackets  with two hits in two at bats.

Meek was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Hannah Taylor made the most plays with four.
