With Elle on the mound, Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets shut out Addison

HATTON - Elle Donaldson threw a shutout to lead Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets  past Addison 8-0 on Thursday, May 2,  in the 2A Area 14 tournament played at Hatton High School.
Winston County got things moving in the first inning, when Makayla Lindsey singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
WCHS tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The Lady Jackets  put the pressure on, lead by a walk by Lindsey and a double by Brenna Wakefield.
A single by Anna Grace Luker in the first inning was a positive for Addison.
Donaldson was on the rubber for Winston County. She allowed seven hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out two.
Luker toed the rubber for Addison. She surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out four.
Winston County  rack-ed up 11 hits. Donaldson, Emily Holt, Lindsey, Wakefield, and Kanesha Flanagin all collected multiple hits for Winston County. Flanagin, Wakefield, Lindsey, Holt, and Donaldson each managed two hits. The Lady Yellow Jackets Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Wakefield made the most plays with five.
Addison saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Macey Butler and Luker each collected multiple hits for Addison.
