ADDISON - Complaints of illegal narcotics activity at an Addison residence led to the finding of 14 growing marijuana plants as well as methamphetamine, in what law enforcement have termed a drug distribution operation.
Arrested at the scene was Jake Eugene Hyatt, 30, of 27918 Highway 278, Addison where the bust took place, charged with possession of marijuana first degree, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Winston County Sheriff’s Investigator Caleb Snoddy.
Hyatt was transported from the scene by Addison Police Chief Mitchell Woodard, to the Winston County Jail, Double Springs, without incident, sheriff’s investigators said.
“We had complaints from citizens about it,” stated Addison Police Officer Brett Rodgers. “We even had one parent concerned that her son may have bought marijuana from this residence.
“When we get the complaint, people need to understand, it don’t happen overnight, but we do work on it,” Rodgers added.
*When someone is accused of a crime, it is merely an accusation until or unless the person is proven guilty in a court of law.
