Jaycey Bowling, senior at Meek High School, signed a scholarship to the University of Montevallo, Thursday, Nov. 14. Her plans are to get a degree in graphic design and communications. Bowling has been active in track, Scholar’s Bowl at MHS and Fast Track at Wallace State Community College. She received $6,000 for an academic scholarship, and currently has a $3,000 pole vault scholarship. If she places higher this year in pole vault, she will receive more.“Montevallo is a beautiful campus, and I look forward to going there,” Bowling said. “When I met the track team, they were so nice.
“Meek High School has a very many great people here, and it’s been such an honor to go to school here,” Bowling continued. “It’s just a great place to be.” “It is such an honor and a proud moment,” MHS Principal Marla Murrah said. “I’m proud for her to have this opportunity to not only further her education at Montevallo but to earn scholarship money through her talent. Congratulations to her.
