WCHS teams take wins over Lynn


Winston County High School’s Cade Taylor takes on a host of Lynn Bears as he goes to the net.


LYNN - The Winston County Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets took wins over the Lynn Bears and Lady Bears Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Lynn High School.
The Lady Jackets won by a commanding 54-13. Mackenzie Blackwood led WCHS with 14 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, 4 steals, followed by Emily Holt with 11 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 3 steals; Bella Wakefield, 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 blocks; Madison Comeens, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals; Brenna Wakefield, 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 blocks; Makayla Lindsey, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block; Bailey Kelley, 3 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals; Ella Moore, 1 point, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 4 steals.
Jerica Anderson was the top point maker for the LHS Lady Bears with 6, 4 rebounds and 1 steal; Briana Benson had 3 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal;  Ashley Aldridge, 2 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist; Briana Barton, 1 point, 4 rebounds, 1 steal; Laney Uptain, 1 point, 4 rebounds; Ella Brown, 1 rebound, 1 steal;  Emily Batchelor, 2 rebounds.
Brooks Bonds and Cade Taylor each sunk 9 points for WCHS in their 48-29 win. Austin Owens had 8, with Nathaniel Gurley and Jon Parsons adding 6 each. Sy Blanton and Jacob Hill had 2 points apiece.
