LYNN - Thirteen teams participated in the Lynn High School Invitational Softball Tournament Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, Feb. 29. Teams participating included Tharptown, Addison, Dora and Oakman in Pool A; Meek, Vina, Sulligent JV and Winston County, Pool B; Lynn, Hackleburg, Fayette, Sulligent and Fultondale in Pool C.
Pool play was held Friday evening and Saturday morning with the single elimination tournament starting at noon on Saturday. The games were played at the LHS softball tournament and the city park ballfields.
Vina defeated Fultondale to advance to play Tharptown, who was victorious in that game.
Fayette defeated Dora and Hackleburg beat Winston County. Fayette was the winner over Hackleburg.
Tharptown then defeated Fayette.
Sulligent beat Addison and Lynn defeated Meek. Oakman defeated Sulligent to play Lynn. Oakman was the winner over Lynn. Tharptown and Oakman faced off in the championship game, with Oakman taking the tournament title.
