MARION COUNTY - The Alabama Department of Transportation announced Monday that it has approved a project to resurface and replace guardrails along Highway 13 North.
The project - which will begin at the Winston/Marion county line and travel north to Bear Creek, will be 4.7 miles long, was awarded to the Rogers Group.  ALDOT awarded $1.47 million for the project, which is expected to last three months.
In Walker County, ALDOT has awarded to Good Hope Contracting $1.16 million to widen, resurface and install guardrail on County Road 11 from the junction of Ninth Avenue northwest in Carbon Hill to the junction of Keeton Farm Road south of Nauvoo.  This project will be 4.9 miles long and is also expected to last three months.
In both areas, motorists should expect minor delays as the work is performed.  Drivers are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits, as well.
