MARION COUNTY - The Alabama Department of Transportation has approved two projects in Marion County.
Rogers Group will resurface and perform traffic striping on Highway 241 form the junction of County Road 143 to south o the junction of Highway 172 in Bear Creek. The 4.5 mile project was awarded at $2.24 million and expected to last four months.
S.T. Bunn Construction Company will resurface and replace guardrail on I-22 from the Mississippi state line to just west of the Reese Road overpass. The 5.9 mile project was awarded at $9.89 million and is expected to last nine months.
ALDOT awarded the bids during a Dec. 4, bid opening. ALDOT reviews the contractor’s bid to ensure its accuracy before granting final approval. Construction typically begins within two months after the contract is awarded.
