DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Lady Jackets fought hard all the way to the end, but Cold Springs pulled away for a 7-4 victory Tuesday, March 9.
The game was tied at four, with Cold Springs batting in the top of the seventh when Emma Black singled on the first pitch at bat, scoring one run.
Black was in the pitcher's circle for Cold Springs. She lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out two and walking zero.
Ally Blackston led things off on the rubber for the Lady Jackets. She lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and seven runs while striking out seven and walking zero.
Winston County tallied nine hits. Emily Holt, Madison Comeens and Olivia Wright each racked up multiple hits for theLady Yellow Jackets. Wright, Comeens and Holt each collected two hits to lead the home team.
Cold Springs totaled 11 hits in the game. Morgan Chasteen, Maddie Pearl and Anna Voce each collected multiple hits Chasteen led Cold Springs with three hits in four at bats.
