Lady Bears lose heartbreaker to Hubbertville 15-14

LYNN - The Lynn Lady Bears Varsity fought back after falling down by five runs in the second inning Thursday, March 11. The comeback fell just short though, with a 15-14 defeat to Hubbertville.
The Lady Bears scored ten runs in the failed comeback. Ella Brown, Sadie Tittle, Ashley Aldridge, Kamri Tittle and Phebe Burkett each picked up RBIs.
Hubbertville got things started in the first inning, scoring two runs when Haley Watkins singled.
Hubbertville scored four runs in the top of the second.  McKenna Fisher doubled on a 1-1 count, allowing Kaydance Brown to come home.  Dixie Moye grounded out, bringing Fisher across.  Kylee Dunn doubled on the first pitch at bat, allowing L. Wright to score, and Haley Watkins singled on a 2-1 count, bringing Dunn home.

Lynn answered with four runs of their own, courtesy of Gracie Jordan, Ella Brown, Aldridge and Anna Hosler, and Hub's lead was narrowed to 6-5.

Lynn scored five runs in the third inning. Aldridge doubled on a line drive, allowing Brown and Hosler both to score and Kamri to advance to third.  Next up to bat was Sadie Tittle, who hit a home run, bringing in Kamri and Aldridge, as well, and giving Lynn a 10-6 lead.
Hubbertville came back with five runs in the fourth inning, reclaiming the lead 11-10. The Lions’ big inning was driven by Nevaeh Hoobler, Fisher and Kaydance Brown.
Lynn’s Ella Brown and Hosler both scored in the bottom of the fourth in the back-and-forth affair, but Hub took a commanding lead in the sixth, going up 15-12.  With bases loaded, Dunn doubled on a line drive, allowing, Madison Cribb, Brown and Fisher all to cross home plate.
Breanna Barton and Chloe Gilliland  brought in the last two runs for the Lady Bears, but it wasn’t enough, and Hubbertville got the win.  
Watkins was on the rubber for Hubbertville. She went the full seven innings, allowing 14 runs on 18 hits and striking out three.
Gilliland toed the rubber for Lynn Lady Bears Varsity. She went two innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out three.  Barton threw five innings out of the bullpen.
Lynn tallied 18 hits on the day.  Ella Brown, Hosler, Aldridge, Barton, Kamri  Tittle and Sadie Tittle all managed multiple hits for the Lady Bears.  Brown led Lynn with four hits in five at bats.
Hubbertville racked up 11 hits in the game. Fisher, Watkins, Brown and Dunn each collected multiple hits for the Lions. Fisher went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Hubbertville in hits.
