BEAR CREEK - Listerhill Foundation is excited to announce that Phillips Elementary School will be the Winter 2021 destination for its quarterly “Shoe Drop”.
The event will see every student receive a pair of new, brand-named athletic shoes and 5 pairs of Bombas socks through Listerhill’s program, Kicks for Kids.
Delighted Phillips Elementary School Principal, Nancy Hallman, commented on the impact of the program to her students.
“Kicks for Kids is a blessing to our entire community. This will give such a confidence boost to our students. When our children succeed, the future looks bright for all of us," Hallman said.
Brad Green, Listerhill’s President and CEO explained, “When a child has a pair of shoes that fit, they have increased self-esteem, higher levels of classroom engagement and are more likely to participate in physical activity. We want these children to succeed and giving them a pair of shoes is one way that we can help them do this.”
The shoe drop, which will take place next month, is in partnership with California-based Shoes That Fit who, since their founding in 1992, have provided over 2 million pairs of shoes to children across the US.
Foundation Chair Sarah Evans highlighted the importance of community partnerships for the programs continued success.
“We cannot do this alone. Our corporate sponsors and individual donors enable this program to happen and for them we are so thankful. When we all work together we can have a real impact in meaningful ways," Evans said.
