Delmar Fire & Rescue benefits from needed grant

DELMAR - Flooding issues at the Delmar fire station through the years have finally been corrected, thanks to funding received from the Northwest Resource Conservation and Development Council.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - State Senator Garlan Gudger - who is recovering from major injuries suffered in a jet ski accident this summer - made his first speaking appearance since the accident Monday, Sept. 30, to celebrate over $119,000 in funding for projects across Winston County.

North Alabama Trails & Recreation program to partner with local organizations

WINSTON COUNTY - A new program focused on improving outdoor recreation to make North Alabama “a recreation destination” has been formed by the Alabama Mountains, Rivers and Valleys Resource Conservation and Development Council. The new program, NATR, which stands for North Alabama Trails & Recreation, will partner with organizations and individuals in eighteen counties, including Winston.
