ARLEY - The Town of Arley is lauding Juanita Culler, "The Banner Lady," for her dedication to, and hard work on behalf of, the town's military banner program with a proclamation and a reception in her honor.
ARLEY - Justin Harbison will be sworn in as the newest member of the Arley Town Council at its next regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 4, at 6 p.m.
Four of the five members of the board of directors of the new Winston County Rescue Squad at the Arley Fire Department, May 11: James Rickett (Arley Fire Department), Neil Feist (Helicon Fire Department), Board President Pat Hanna, Ashley Tucker (Central Fire Department). The final board member is Darrell Smith (Addison Fire Department).
ARLEY - Previous attempts to see an ambulance stationed on the east side of the county having failed, a non-profit organization called the Winston County Rescue Squad is being formed to provide 24/7 ambulance service to the area.
ARLEY - An employment opportunity is available in Arley through NACOLG's Senior Employment Program. On April 3, the Arley Town Council voted to hire “a senior aid” to work in Hamner Park through the program. The position was posted on April 18. Participants in the program must be 55 or older and have an income of not more than $18,225 for a one-person household or $24,650 for a two-person household. Eligible individuals can pick up an application at Arley Town Hall. The deadline to apply is May 1.
ARLEY - Renovations of the former bank building that will become the Arley Smith Lake Senior Outreach Center are set to begin soon, Bob Cooper told the Arley Town Council at its regular monthly meeting on Nov. 7.
ARLEY - The Arley Town Council voted unanimously to participate in the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program administrated by ADECA at its monthly meeting on Aug. 1.

ARLEY - Wallace State Community College and the Arley Town Council solidified plans Monday July 12, to establish a $500,000 community learning center on town property next to Meek Baptist Church.
