CULLMAN COUNTY - Earlier this week, the Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed a raccoon to be positive for rabies after it attacked a person on a walking trail near a subdivision on Fox Hollow Road in Cullman.

That quote surely seems relevant today. Both churches and schools have been canceled due to COVID-19. However, the above quote came from a newspaper article in Hamilton from Oct. 16, 1918. It was relevant then, too, as what was known as Spanish influenza gripped the world, including here on our home turf, same as COVID-19 has.

WINSTON COUNTY - The EF-2 tornado that caused damage in the Vinemont area of Cullman County Friday night, June 22, originated in far northeastern Winston County, where meteorologists with the National Weather Service in Birmingham found damage.
CULLMAN COUNTY - The National Weather Service in Huntsville has confirmed that a very weak and short-lived tornado did touch down Wednesday, Feb. 28, at approximately 4:46 p.m. between Eva and Fairview in northeast Cullman County.
