Winston County’s history on display at Bankhead House

JASPER - The history of Winston County is vast and varied, and now a stately collection of historical artifacts representing the entirety of the county is on display at one location.

Haleyville drops loss to 6A Jasper

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Lions could not get their bats going in the second game on Saturday, Feb. 22. They lost to Jasper 13-1. The Lions lost 4-3 in extra innings to Deshler earlier that morning.
Jasper scored six runs in the sixth inning. Jasper's big inning was driven by a walk by Kaden Shelton, a fielder's choice by Braxton Turnbow, an error on a ball put in play by Jon Burton, and a double by Shelton.

Lions drop double header to Jasper

HALEYVILLE -  The Haleyville Lions dropped a double header Friday, March 15, by the slimmest of margins to the Jasper Vikings. HHS lost 3-2 in the first game and 4-3 in the second.
Ben Lowman started the first game for Haleyville, recording nine outs.  He took the loss. Lowman lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three. John Whiteside finished the last four innings, with three strikeouts.
Tyler Thomasson was credited with the victory for Jasper.

Lions baseball drops loss to Jasper

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville High School varsity baseball team hosted Jasper Thursday, Feb. 26. The Lions lost 11-6.
John Whiteside started out on the mound, going three innings. Caleb Williams came in at relief, working an inning. Senior pitcher Scott McAlpine closed out the sixth and seventh.
