Addison region champs; Meek state bound as third seed; Haleyville eliminated by Jacksonville in 4A action

HUNTSVILLE - The Addison Lady Bulldogs found themselves in a very familiar place Wednesday, Oct. 21. The Lady Dawgs, ranked No. 1, sailed through the 2A North Regionals without losing a set. AHS put down A16 winner Lexington in the first match 25-11, 25-15 and 25-12.

Haleyville softball wins games


The Haleyville Lady Lions hosted a round robin softball tournament with Danville, Hatton and Muscle Shoals on Wednesday, June 19. The Lady Lions won games against Hatton and Muscle Shoals. Lady Lions loses to Cordova 5-0

One bright spot for the Haleyville Lady Lions was a single by Carlie Brazell in the first inning on Thursday, March 21 against Cordova.
Raven Clark was in the pitcher's circle for Cordova. She lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out seven.
 Anna Lacy Sartin started the game for Lady Lions. She lasted three and a third innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out five and walking one. Ana Aaron threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

HHS girls golf team

Curry runs away with early lead in win over Haleyville Lady Lions

CURRY - The Haleyville Lady Lions softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-1 loss to Curry on Tuesday, March 19. Curry took the lead on a single in the first inning.
The Lady Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Curry, giving up eight runs.
Curry scored five runs in the sixth inning. Allie Downs, Alayna Key, Linley Tubbs, and Richardson all drove in runs in the frame.

Lady Lions show well in Officials Softball Tournament

The Haleyville High School Lady Lions participated in a pre-season Officials Softball Tournament Saturday, Feb. 16, at Lamar County High School, in Vernon. The Lady Lions did extremely well, coming out on top in their games. Other teams participating were Marion County, Lamar County and Berry. JV teams also played. The Lady Lions are coached by Whitney Webb and assistants Emily Kennedy and Kara West.

Lady Lions season ends with loss to Danville

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Lady Lions fought to the end, but lost 69-63 to the Danville Hawks Monday, Feb. 11, in northwest subregion play.  This ended the Lady Lions season with a 14-16 record. The Lady Lions finished with a 10-2 record since Christmas. As area champions, the game was hosted by Haleyville.
Lady Lions head coach Senn Williams commented about the season, “I was really proud of the girls the second half of the season. Our schedule was really tough up front, but the girls always worked hard in practice.
