Tuesday storms and high winds leave damage in their wake

A large tree crashed into an occupied home on 32nd Street in Haleyville Tuesday, March 4, as a line of thunderstorms was passing through the area. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.

WINSTON COUNTY - A fast moving line of thunderstorms, as well as very gusty winds outside of storms Tuesday, March 4, have left significant damage in their wake.

Home destroyed during severe storm Tuesday

A home under completion was destroyed during a severe thunderstorm near Houston Tuesday afternoon.

HOUSTON - While surrounding first responders were dealing with fallen trees and power lines from severe storms Tuesday, May 4, officials at Houston were dealing with major structural damage, after high winds turned a lake home into a massive pile of debris.

Substantial roof damage at Greenleaf Apartments

HALEYVILLE - Apparent straight-line winds associated with a severe thunderstorm that came through Winston County Thursday morning has caused susbstantial roof damage at Greenleaf Apartments. Winston County was under a severe thunderstorm warning at the time the damage occurred.

Arley hit with major storm damage

High winds heavily damaged the varsity baseball field behind Meek High School in Arley.

ARLEY - Major storm damage was reported in the Arley area, after severe storms plowed across the state Thursday, March 14.

No official storm reports in Winston County

WINSTON COUNTY - Winston County appears to have dodged a bullet Monday, March 12, as possible tornadoes passed by to the north and east of the county. There are reports of storm damage in Russellville in Franklin County, as well as damage in Lawrence County.

The primary damage reports seem to be from hail, however, especially in Cullman County, where hail as large as baseballs was reported. There were hail reports in Winston County of approximately penny size, according to the Winston County EMA.
