One vehicle accident at Waldrop church lands helicopter


The driver of this vehicle was airlifted from the scene. The collision with the telephone pole caused shards of the pole to land in the church parking lot across the street. The pole is in two pieces.
HALEYVILLE - Highway 195 is an accident-prone one, with a second accident happening so far this year. This time it was in Haleyville in front of Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church in a sharp curve.

Man arrested after active meth lab found on stolen four-wheeler at Phillips School

BEAR CREEK   - The Bear Creek Police Department was at the right place at the right time, when they caught a man on a stolen four wheeler in possession of an active methamphetamine lab and firearms in the parking lot in the presence of students at Phillips School.

3 arrested in counterfeit check scheme

HALEYVILLE     - Three people have been nabbed in a counterfeit check scheme affecting not just Haleyville but several northwest Alabama communities, where the individuals were attempting to cash bogus company checks while being in possession of bogus personal checks.

Van stolen from Traditions Florist found in Mississippi


The white 2000 Chevrolet Express van stolen late Saturday night, April 28, from Traditions Florist in Haleyville, is found in Mississippi after it was reportedly abandoned by the suspect.
HALEYVILLE -Law enforcement are investigating to see if a  crime spree in Haleyville this past week, where vehicles were broken into, is related to the theft of a white van from Traditions Florist  late Saturday night, April 28.

Haleyville man arrested after vehicle found burning at abandoned railroad


Police and fire officials found the vehicle burning near the old wooden bridge spanning the abandoned Illinois Central railroad tracks.
HALEYVILLE - A Haleyville man has been arrested, facing  multiple charges after a vehicle was found burning beside the abandoned Illinois Central railroad tracks in the area of Alabama Avenue and 5th Avenue Monday night, April 16.
