Contractors for ALDOT for the Highway 195 turning lane project in Haleyville are visible some days and some days they are not, leading to frustration among city officials and the public.
HALEYVILLE - The wheels are turning once again on the turning lane project at the intersection of Highway 195 and 20th Avenue in Haleyville after numerous red lights both before and during the project.

A caution light was installed several years ago, after a traffic study did not warrant a red light, according to state officials.
DOUBLE SPRINGS - Although a project by the Alabama Department of Transportation to correct a dangerous intersection at Highway 33 and County Road 24 in Double Springs has now been funded, concerns have been expressed by town officials and law enforcement that the project could cause additional traffic congestion.
BEAR CREEK - The anticipated opening of Timber Creek Housing this spring - with the expectation of 150 new jobs by summer - has resulted in a half million dollar industrial access project.
TUSCALOOSA - The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to resurface and place new traffic striping on U.S. Hwy. 278 from the junction of Chilcoat Road to east of the junction of County Road 3089 in Double Springs.
