WALKER COUNTY - A Nauvoo man was killed Tuesday morning, October 17, after being struck by a vehicle.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Jeffery Lee Adair, the suspect in the shooting of a Double Springs Police Department officer and ensuing standoff, has reportedly died at the Winston County Jail, where he was being held.  No further details regarding his death have been released at this time.

At the Winston County Sheriff's Office's request, the State Bureau of Investigation will be handling the investigation into Adair's death, Winston County Sheriff Caleb Snoddy stated.

NATURAL BRIDGE - Despite suffering from health issues, Gene Lynn provided dedication in every service he rendered, whether it was as a Natural Bridge Town Council member, community supporter, during his military service or as a veteran.

UNION GROVE - A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:16 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, has claimed the life of a Crane Hill man.

ARLEY - Former Arley Mayor Brent Harbison passed away Monday, Aug. 3.  He served as Mayor of Arley from 1972-1984 and played a vital part in the town's success in many different areas.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Emergency first responders found themselves on an emotional call Mother’s Day, May 10, when an 8-month-old boy found on the floor gasping for air later died.

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Double Springs Town Council Member Bill Hawkins passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Hendrix Health & Rehab.  He was 76. The Alabamian will have much more, including a tribute to Mr. Hawkins, in the March 4, edition.
