DOUBLE SPRINGS - The ballots for the March 5, primary election have been ordered, with the first day to apply for an absentee ballot being today, Wednesday, Jan. 10, according to Winston County Election Officer Sheila Moore.
To apply for an absentee ballot, contact Absentee Election Manager Dallas Baldwin at the Winston County Commission office at (205) 489-5026.
A voter can vote an absentee ballot in person or complete an application and arrange through Baldwin to have an absentee ballot mailed to them, election officials said.
The last day a voter can apply for an absentee ballot will be Feb. 29, according to Moore.
Anyone who has changed their address since last voting is urged to go by the Winston County Board of Registrars Office, located in the Winston County Courthouse in Double Springs, or call the office at (205) 489-3966, to make sure their address change is recorded and to make sure they vote in the correct precinct, Moore urged.
People needing to register to vote in Winston County for the March 5 primary, have until February 16, she continued.
