Michael Brent Harbin, 45, of Helena, AL, formerly of Natural Bridge, passed away Saturday May 18, 2024. He graduated from Lynn High School in 1997 and graduated from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in 2002 with a degree in communication. He worked at Mobile TV station Fox 10 and ABC 33/40 in Birmingham as a news producer. He was currently working as a medical coder for DCH Hospital in Tuscaloosa.
Michael's hobbies included Crimson Tide football and attending Alabama games. He loved music and was a band member from the fifth grade through his senior year at Lynn School. He was a church pianist for years and an organist for some time. He was a member of Dawson Baptist Church, Birmingham.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday May 25, 2024 from 1 - 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. His memorial service will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Todd Tittle and David Hearn speaking.
Mr. Harbin is survived by his parents, Lelton and Teresa Harbin; grandmother, Ann Lynn Baughn; aunts, Deb Baughn, Rita Tittle and her husband, Roger, all of Lynn and Frances Harbin, Haleyville; uncles, Jerry Harbin and his wife, Kayren, Russellville; Johnny Harbin and his wife, Deborah, Nauvoo; Anthony Harbin, Haleyville; Tim Baughn and his wife, Alicia and Richard Baughn, all of Lynn and a host of cousins and close friends. He is also survived by special friends, Heather Cathy, Shelly Chapman, Devin Haynes, Greg Lakey and Maggie Werschmidt.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Willie Baughn and Edward and Ola Mae Harbin; cousins, Felicia Harbin and Cory Baughn and uncles, Gary Harbin and Ray Harbin.
Michael was a close friend to many and cherished his friendships.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, 200 S. Park Dr, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL 33021 where 100 percent of donations goes to research or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospitals, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
