Charles William Thompson, 72, of Double Springs, passed away at Princeton Baptist Medical Center on Monday, May 5, 2025.
He was born April 17, 1953, in Muncie, Indiana to L.B. and Helen Thompson. Charles loved cooking, singing, gardening and woodworking. He had a deep passion for Auburn football and enjoyed traveling to the beach. Charles worked in law enforcement for 30 years. He always loved to make others laugh and his motto was “always leave them laughing.”
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, beginning at 2 p.m., with Ed Townsend and Jacob Eward officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Charles is survived by his wife, Angie Thompson; children, Tuesday Thompson, Chris Thompson and Staci (Kendall) Thompson; stepchildren, Justin (George) McCullar; grandchildren, Tyler Hood, Marnae (Justin) South, Jacob Thompson, Presley Billups and Zach Thompson; step-grandchildren, J.B. McCullar and Hannah McCullar; great-grandchildren, Graham South, Heidi South and Brycen South; sisters, Margaret Channell and Lisa Rice and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.B. and Helen Thompson; maternal grandparents, Hughes and Ora-Lee Dyer and paternal grandparents, Curtis and Etta Thompson.
