Jacob Visser

Jacob Visser passed away at his home in Haleyville after a brief illness on Monday, June 16,2025.  He was 82 years old.

Jacob was born in Butler, NJ and grew up in Patterson before moving to Maine in 1959. He was a proud member of the United States Marines and later retired from the University of Southern Maine. He later moved to Florida, where he spent many years and gave his life to God and ministry. He spent the last ten years in Haleyville, where he was a devoted member of his local church. He found great joy in prayer, strength in scripture and peace in the promise of eternal life. He shared his faith daily and also volunteered on a prayer line where he helped others find Christ. Jacob was a sports enthusiast who loved talking about the Red Sox and NY Giants with his son, Todd, and liked to tease his daughter, Amy, about her love for the NY Yankees. He adored his two children; they were the light of his eyes.

Jacob was preceded in death by his dad, Jake; mom, Ruby; sister, Katherine; and brother, David.

He is survived by a brother, Robert; his loving children, daughter, Amy and husband Dean; son, Todd and wife Debbie; five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In Jacob's final years, he was blessed to have a very special caregiver, Juanita Sandoval. She was at his side in his final days.

Jacob's favorite saying is "I'm blessed and highly favored". He will be forever remembered and cherished by many.

The family will hold a Memorial Service at Lighthouse Independent Holiness Church, 161 Wakefield Rd Haleyville, on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 6 p.m.  Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family.
