Carolyn Jean Ferguson, 85, of Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Haleyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
She was born August 14, 1940 to Ted and Martha Opal Smith in Praco, Alabama.
Visitation will be Monday, June 1, 2026, from 12-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Johnny Gunter will officiate.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Johnny Albritton; daughter, Terry (Shane) Davis; grandsons, Joshua (Crystal) Albritton and Aaron (Danielle) Holder; granddaughters, Brandi (Aaron) Albritton, Brittanie (Darrin) Braxton, Cassandra Holder and Sha (Fernando) Woods and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Almus and Emma Hogan; father, Ted Smith; mother, Martha Opal Smith; sisters, Cheryl Smith and Gwendolyn Sanford; son, Wayne Albritton; granddaughter, Zena Glass and daughter-in-law, Sandy Albritton.
