ADDISON - Addison’s chief of police, Brett Rodgers, turned in his resignation to Mayor Marsha Pigg and the Addison Town Council Monday, Aug. 7.

WCHS facing major staff changes

DOUBLE SPRINGS - Major personnel changes are taking place at Winston County High School ahead of the new school year starting for students on Aug. 7, when students will see a new teacher in the auto technology department as well as new faces in the positions of head football coach and band director.

McCay resigns as Winston County Schools CSFO


Morgan Smothers is the new chief school financial officer for Winston County Schools. She will replace Andy McCay, who has resigned to accept the same position at Walker County Schools.
DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Board of Education named Morgan Smothers as the new chief school financial officer due to the resignation of Andy McCay, who has held the CSFO role for the district the past 10 years.

Two council seats declared vacant

DOUBLE SPRINGS - When Bill Hawkins passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, it left a council seat vacant at the Town of Double Springs. As events unfolded at the town council meeting Monday, March 9, another seat became available when Mayor Elmo Robinson read a resignation letter by council member Bart Seymour. Seymour’s resignation is due to him no longer living in the city limits.
